Welcome to Big Feelings Bootcamp!

If you've been dreading walks, apologizing to strangers, or wondering what you're doing wrong... you're not alone. Reactivity can feel overwhelming and isolating, but it isn't a reflection of your dog's character, or your ability as a dog guardian. You don't need to be firmer, louder, or more in control. You need skills, understanding, and support.

This 12-week, completely virtual program helps you build practical management tools while learning to see your dog's big feelings through a more compassionate, grounded lens.

Big Feelings Bootcamp is rooted in positive reinforcement, force free training methodology, but this is more than just a skills-based class. You'll leave knowing the "whys" and "hows" behind your dog's behaviour and a complete mindset shift to help you feel empowered, not powerless.

This program is for you if:

  • You feel overwhelmed by your dog's big feelings and reactions

  • Walks feel unpredictable, stressful, or isolating

  • You're tired of trying random tips and want a structured class

  • You're open to understanding the "why" and "how" of behaviour, not just stopping it

  • You want practical skills you can use immediately

  • You're willing to practice consistently, and have patience for both yourself and your dog

  • You value compassionate, science-based training methods

  • You'd feel relieved to have steady guidance, instead of figuring this out alone

FAQs

Is this program right for my dog?

This program is designed for dogs who experience reactivity, anxiety, or other big feelings around things like other dogs, people, sounds, or new environments. If your dog barks, lunges, freezes, shuts down, or seems overwhelmed -- you're in the right place.

How is this different than other reactivity classes?

Big Feelings Bootcamp is different because the 12-week length allows you to take your time and really absorb the information. Because classes are not held in person, every single dog is already starting out in the place they're most comfortable, instead of trying to learn in an overwhelming, stressful environment. This program is more than just controlling behaviour, it's giving you a deeper understanding into your dog's emotional experience to shift your perspective.

What training method do you use?

I teach you how to train new skills through positive reinforcement only and helping you understand your dog's emotional experience. I use humane, scientific-based training. Punishment, negative-reinforcement, aversive tools, compulsion, or dominance-based approaches are not used or permitted.

Are you certified? What are your credentials?

Yes, I am a multi-certified professional dog trainer! I am currently a Certified Dog Behaviour Consultant (CDBC) with the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants (IAABC). I am also a Certified Behaviour Adjustment Training Instructor (CBATI-KA) through the Grisha Stewart Academy. I am Fear Free Certified (FFCP), and just for fun, a Certified Trick Dog Instructor (CTDI).

I value science and continuing education to make sure your class materials are up-to-date. I will be graduating with my Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology in May 2026, where I focused on animal behaviour and am doing a thesis on dog body language recognition. In September 2026, I will be starting my Master's of Science in Clinical Animal Behaviour at the University of Edinburgh.

What if I can't attend a live class?

No problem! All live sessions will be recorded and available to watch. The Discord server is also an option to ask questions if you can't make it to the live class!

What are the classes like?

Classes will be conducted through Zoom and include a presentation-style lecture with the needed information. I will also provide demonstrations on how to teach skills when needed! Every class has homework, which is just meant to give you some structure in your learning to help keep this as stress-free for you as possible! Some weeks will include short quizzes to self-check your understanding, worksheets that coincide with the material, or specific goals to help keep you on pace. Participants are also welcome to ask questions during classes, or in the Discord throughout the week!

How much time will I need each week?

You can expect to plan for 8 live classes (we don't have a class every week to ensure appropriate time to practice) and short, daily practice sessions (5-10 minutes is enough for the games and skills we'll be teaching). This program is designed to fit into your real life, and can be adjusted depending on you! The Discord community is up to participants -- you can be as active, or as quiet, as you'd like.

How does video feedback work?

Class members can submit one short video per week (1-3 minutes is ideal) in the Discord channel. I'll respond within 48-72 hours on weekdays with personalized feedback.

What if I'm nervous about posting videos?

It can be a huge leap to post your training in a space where people can see it -- that's completely normal! This space is designed to be supportive and not judgmental. Participate at the pace that feels safe for you, but class members also have the option of sending videos to me privately if that feels like the safest option for them!

What's Discord?

Discord is a free communication platform! It's very similar to Slack, but with more features and versatility. You can learn more here: https://discord.com/

What if my dog doesn't improve?

Dog training is not linear, especially when we're working with big feelings, and that's completely normal. This program focuses on understanding triggers, building management skills, shifting your mindset, and supporting emotional regulation. I cannot guarantee outcomes, but class members who consistently apply the material typically see meaningful improvements in confidence and handling skills.

How long will I have access?

Class notes and recordings are downloadable, so if you download them, you'll have access for life! You have access to the Big Feelings Bootcamp Discord server for the duration of the 12-weeks, but after the 12-weeks is up, you'll be invited to stay in the alumni chat and have access to certain channels as long as you want.

What happens if the cohort fills?

Enrolment closes once we reach capacity (17 participants) to keep feedback personal. You can join or stay on the waitlist to be notified when the next cohort opens.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! You can choose to pay in full, or split your investment into instalments (up to 3). Access to the program requires active payments. If a payment fails and isn't resolved, access will pause until it's updated.

Who is this program not right for?

This program might not be the right fit if:

 - You're looking for a quick fix or guaranteed/overnight results
- You prefer punishment-based or balanced training methods
- You want a quick solution that doesn't involve practicing between sessions
- You just want to stop behaviour, without exploring what's underneath it
This program is for dog guardians who are ready to learn, reflect, and build skills gradually.
