Cosmic Dog Photography
My love for photos sparked with the adoption of my dog, Nova, and needing a pandemic hobby to keep me busy. What initially started as silly iPhone photos of my puppy on Instagram turned into grabbing a used DSLR camera for the first time and capturing the beauty of my dog through a lens. I have since upgraded to a full-frame mirrorless Sony, and love to bring it with me on my dog adventures. Being able to capture the personality of a dog is my favourite thing about my camera, and I hope I can offer you the same joy.

I currently offer outdoor photography sessions for dogs from the same household. Being outdoors allows your dog to more naturally be a dog, allowing me to capture their most doggy-self, and helps prevent any tension from a stranger being in their home. Sessions can be made to accommodate nervous or reactive dogs, either by having a brief meet and greet prior to our session so your dog can have a chance to familiarize themselves with me and a camera, extending the length of your session, and/or making sure the location we choose sets your dog up for success best.

You can be confident that I will never push your dog into an uncomfortable situation just to get a photo; I work at your dog's pace and comfort level! Sessions will also be on leash to respect local leash laws unless we are in an off-leash allowed area and your dog has solid recall cues. Generally, I do not edit out leashes as that is a primary feature in my photography. Long lines are a fantastic alternative to allow your dog wiggle-room during a session and capture more realistic motion. Don't have a long line? Let me know when booking and I will bring one with me! All long line sessions will require your dog to be in a harness to keep your dog's body safe.
A $1.25/km one-way fee will apply for any photo sessions booked outside of the City of Winnipeg, calculated from the closest perimeter exit.
No aversive tools permitted in photo sessions, including but not limited to: prong collars, e-Collars, shock collars, Haltis or head halters, choke chains. Dogs must be on a properly-fitted flat collar or properly-fitted harness and a fixed length leash (No Flexi-leads).
Refunds are not available if you arrive to a session with aversive gear on and no suitable alternative.
While I will do what I can to make sure your dog is set up for success, not all dogs are able to succeed with a stranger around or in a new environment. Refunds are not available if a session has to end early for the safety of your dog's well being. Please get in touch before booking to see if accommodations should be made for your dog!
